For info on what a spoonie is, please read:
But You Don't Look Sick and read the Legend of the Spoons.
I'm a spoonie. If you don't read my other blog, Give Me Something to Think About, you probably don't know this. For 14 years, I've battled Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and over the past 5 years, I've dealt with Chronic Daily Headache and Complex Migraine Disease. Which basically means I've been in pain 24/7/365 for the past 14 years. You wouldn't know it to look at me, which is why it's often called Invisible Illness. I can fake a smile that is Oscar-worthy.
I've been connecting with other spoonies on Twitter--what started as fun and a way to promote The Crafty Angel has turned into one of the best support systems I've ever found. And some of my spoonies are in dire need of help. Some have lost jobs, some are losing what little insurance they have. And while we live paycheck to paycheck, and my Etsy store has yet to make a sale, I am blessed. I have a husband who works from home with a good job, I have the ability to stay home and hopefully make an income at home. We have "good" health insurance (though we're still paying off my gallbladder surgery from last June--that's '08 folks).
So HERE'S MY DEAL:
ANY PURCHASE (except Gift Certificates) made from my Etsy Store, www.TheCraftyAngel.etsy.com between now and 12/31/09, use the code SPOONIE in comments or email me before purchase, and I will donate 10% of my profits to Spoonies in need.Depending on how this goes, I may continue the program next year. I will determine the people, please do NOT email me and ask for money. Trust me, if I had any, I would find YOU.Please pass this on.
